You’re in the home stretch! It’s the final COUNTDOWN (cue Europe song in my head now)! It’s a huge week…exciting, busy, sometimes really stressful!
Remembering ALL THE THINGS is the name of the wedding week game. As your FAVORITE Las Vegas Wedding Planner, SunRae Planning is here to take that task right off your shoulders with a handy, comprehensive list of exactly what you need heading into wedding week so you’re prepared, confident, and stress free…or as much as you can be... wink, wink. ;)
Wedding Planning Checklist (For Wedding Week):
Your timeline : Now is the time to zip that baby up! As your destination wedding planner, we are the ones making sure that everything is planned for your rehearsal, wedding day, and post wedding activities. We then take it a step further and communicates all of that to your vendors. One more thing off your plate!
Detailed Schedule for Bridal Party : Once you’ve got that timeline down…it’s time to make a detailed schedule for your bridal party. Communicating the entire timeline is beneficial, but focus on where you want people when and where and who they will be seeing (i.e. hair/makeup, time to be ready etc). The more details you can provide, the harder it will be to have wires crossed and it will provide peace not only to you, but your wedding party to know what they are supposed to do that day!
Your wedding vows and marriage license : You’ll need both during your ceremony. Who will you be handing these documents off to? Or will you be hanging on to those yourself? Are your vows fully written, double checked, and in whatever folder/notebook etc that you’ve chosen? Make sure whatever you choose that all your documents are in a safe spot!
Gifts/ Tips : make sure your gifts are wrapped and ready ahead of time. If you are giving your beloved a gift, will you be exchanging in person or have you designated someone to bring that gift to your love in the get ready suite? Also, make sure any gifts for your bridal party, assistants, tips for vendors etc are ready to go and that you know what to do with them when you arrive at your destination.
Final Vendor Payments : make sure you have all your final payments ready to go for your vendors. Who needs to get paid when? Most vendor payments have probably already been paid but don't forget any last minute due dates! Do you know what form of payment they require? Get all of that set up the week of the wedding so you aren’t scrambling at the last minute!
Seating chart/escort cards finalized and printed : Go over your seating chart again and make sure you’ve got final selections made. Your escort cards can only be finalized after this step, so make sure you've got seating assignments done, and then get both printed and ready to be placed at your reception.
Personal decor : If you plan on using personal decor during your wedding or reception (photo albums, special keepsakes etc), you will need to make a few decisions about who will care for your items before, during and after your wedding and reception. At SRP, we have an intuitive document for you to list all of these things so we know who to pass off your special things to and who we will send them home with at the end of the night.
Details items in a box for your photographer : This can be everything from a beautiful box for your rings to be photographed in, floral clippings, a perfume or cologne bottle, velvet or silk ribbon, cufflinks, a tie, socks, special heirloom items. Make sure it’s all together and easy for your photographer to get those extra detailed snaps of all your faves.
Finalize and confirm honeymoon plans : Tie up those last minute details for your transportation and lodging this week. You’ve likely done this a few weeks ago, but having one last look and confirmation never hurts. Make sure you’ve got your packing list sorted and things ready to go so that you can take a minute to relax the day after your wedding instead of rushing around packing!
Meals/Food : there’s absolutely nothing worse than being hangry on your wedding day! Make sure you’ve got your meals/food planned ahead of time so that you remain nourished, hydrated and cared for at this very basic level on your wedding day. If necessary, assign a point person who will feed you when you need feeding and clean up afterwards as well. Make sure you’ve got snacks packed as well as adequate water and electrolytes!
Floral preservation : If you are shipping your bouquet to Impressive Petals Floral Preservation, make sure you have a box and packing materials adequate enough to ship your bouquet the week before the wedding. If you're local or we're your wedding planner, make sure you've placed your order in advance and have a plan in place to pass this off to us!
Self Care Appointments : make sure your final hair and makeup appointments are confirmed and that you communicate with your vendors on where you will be, as well as times to show up and what time you need to be ready. This is also the time to get your nails done, have a relaxing pre-wedding massage, or any other self care luxuries you deserve.
Accessories and emergency kit ready : get those last minute items packed up and ready to go. Everything from cotton pads, nail files, body tape, toothbrush, paste, floss and mouthwash should be packed in a case and ready to grab and go for any last minute touch ups. Lay out your earrings, rings, garter, shoes etc so that everything is in one place and ready to go.
Steam your dress/tux : Get those last minute wrinkles out so you look absolutely flawless for those memorable moments on the most special day of your life. If you’re traveling to your destination, make sure to pack a small garment steamer in your bag so you can do this the night before!
